Crafts part 2.

Today I dumped every craft item out on my bed. Moved the sewing machine cabinet away from the wall since I planned to take it to the flea market tomorrow.

First, I decided to take my clothes from the wooden dresser and switch it to the 3 drawer plastic one. It fit much nicer in there since i downsized it. I put it by my bed. Then I took the new "craft" dresser and placed it at an angle in the corner. I was going to put the machine I do use in that corner but I enjoy looking out the window and having a place to keep the fan on at night.

I decided I would use the top of the dresser as a cutting area. It works better than what I was using. Plus now I have an area to store the ironing board.

Used the curtain to hide the drawers. I started to sort the drawers. I filled an entire trash bag, set items aside for giving away but ran out of time so I shoved everything back in the drawers for tomorrow.

To be continued...

Crafts

I have been thinking really hard about not selling my crafts anymore. The joy has long since been sucked out of me. I rarely work on projects that I enjoy. It's all with the thought of what might sell later. I hate that feeling. Yet I feel like I'm letting people down when I put my etsy shop on hold. I haven't had a sale in a long time so I don't know why I waste my time feeling bad about it.

Anyways, back to the craft topic. Next on my "Kon mari" list is crafts. My deadline I set for myself to be done with this tidying up is the week before Thanksgiving. I need to get busy.

Here is my craft corner before pics. I actually have taken a dozen or more bags to the thrift store already. But here is the latest before pic. I can't wait to show you an after picture.

To start with I went through my sewing box.

After -

This doesn't look like much progress, but the trash can was filled. And it looks better to me.

Next up fabrics...

Books

I forgot to take a before picture, but here is what remains. I started out with two bookshelves.

Plus one more book I got this week.

Progress made. Check.

Clothes

I recently read this book from the library.

I'd read it awhile back and got rid of a lot, but slowly allowed junk to creep in. Steal my joy.

So back to the drawing board.

I did as she suggested and found ALL my clothes. Piled them on the bed and put them to the test.

I'm very happy with the pile I was left with. Took several bags to the thrift store.

The count is not important. What matters is that I am happy with what I've got.

Intro.

This blog will be where I ramble about my journey to live simple. There are so many ways that people do this. There is no "way" that is better than the other. This is simply my way.

My goal is not to live in an empty house void of things. I just want the things I own to either be useful or to bring me joy.

Philippians 4:11- Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
